EXPERIENCED HORSE STAFF

A long established and leading thoroughbred breeding and spelling operation in the Upper Hunter is seeking competent and experienced horse staff to join our team. 

The successful applicant will require previous experience in the day to day care and education of thoroughbred horses with particular reference to breeding stock.

An approachable, enthusiastic manner with the ability to fit into a dedicated team is essential.

The remuneration package will reflect skills and experience along with accommodation supplied by the farm.

TRUCK DRIVER/FARM HAND

Segenhoe Stud is one of Australia’s most prestigious stud farms and has expanded over the last two years.  A position has become available for a farm hand to join our farming team.

The successful applicant will be required to -

  • Have extensive knowledge of loading, unloading and transport of Thoroughbred horses both locally and interstate.  Experience in the daily care of Thoroughbreds while overnighting on interstate trips.
  • Have experience in walk-on procedures during the breeding season
  • Assist in the pasture improvement of all paddocks on the farm
  • Responsible use of farm plant and machinery equipment, including maintenance and assistance with farm maintenance including welding, building, earthmoving etc.
  • Assist with tractor operations including cultivation, spraying, slashing and fertiliser application, irrigation, fencing repairs
  • Observation and maintenance of WHS requirements of plant and machinery
  • Assist with livestock care - cattle operations
  • Minimum MR Class licence is required
  • The ability to be part of a team
