Brulee’s cream rises to the top on debut
The Peter Robl prepared Brulee kicked off her racing career in style at Hawkesbury today with an impressive win. The filly by Hinchinbrook settled back in the field to then let down with a dominant turn of foot to overcome her 2 year old rivals in the first at Hawkesbury.
Brulee’s mother – Custard – now has 2 from 3 winners on the track including stakes winning Serene Majesty – sold by Segenhoe to Kitchwin Hills & Neil Werrett Bloodstock at the 2014 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for $400K. Serene Majesty resumes in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Commenting on Brulee’s win – trainer Peter Robl mentioned, “I expected her to get back & find the line strongly. She’s a beautiful natured filly who has been very professional from the day she stepped into the stables. We were more pleased than surprised with today’s win – and it didn’t come as a shock.”
Segenhoe’s Racing Manager Bill Mitchell added, “She’s always shown plenty of promise early on & is a really nice relaxed filly. She won today on her pure ability. She’s a half sister to stakeswinner Serene Majesty & is certainly showing that class. Brulee is aptly named – being by boom young sire Hinchinbrook and out of our top class mare in Custard.”
The win gives Peter Robl his 2nd provincial win in NSW – after receiving his trainer’s license back in January. Robl has had a positive start to his training career – with 25 runners: 6 wins, 2 seconds, 3 thirds.
