Centre Pivot Bolts In At Rosehill
Congratulations to Sam Kavanagh on the impressive victory of the Segenhoe owned Centre Pivot.
Centre Pivot kicked off the New Year in the best possible way for the Sam Kavanagh stable, sprinting clear of his rivals at Rosehill to win by a decisive 4.5L margin.
From six starts under the care of Kavanagh, the four-year-old son of More Than Ready has won two, placed second on three occasions and run a luckless fourth at Canterbury.
“It was Centre Pivot’s race to lose,” Sam acknowledged post-race.
“He’s a very nice horse but he can do things wrong out of the gates. James (McDonald) was aggressive on him early though and got him up and travelling.
“I’ve had him set for the Magic Millions Stayers Cup and it was Bill Mitchell (Racing Manager at Segenhoe) that rang me up and said we’ve got a few others going that way so why don’t we keep him in Sydney and go through our grades.
“It’s great to have a Saturday winner for Segenhoe and Baramul Stud – they are massive supporters of mine.
“It’s also nice to kick off the year the right way and exciting for 2015 as I’ve got some really promising horses coming along.”
