Segenhoe Stud’s Peter O’Brien told ANZ Bloodstock News he believed the success of Sepoy was as much down to the quality of mares he was serving as well as his own ability to produce high-class offspring.
“It was obviously a huge sale for all vendors and credit must go to Magic Millions for attracting such a strong buying bench,” he said. “I think the foresight by Kevin and family to purchase quality breeding stock is now starting to pay dividends with Sister Madly being an ideal example.
“Our farm has a strong history of raising athletes and it is no surprise to me when you consider the quality of soil, topography and access to the pristine water from the Hunter river.”
