Spurs And Sashes Claims Title

The Toby Edmonds-trained, Segenhoe Stud-owned Spurs And Sashes is awarded the Gold Coast Turf Club Horse Of The Year title

Based on a points system, our ever consistent mare Spurs And Sashes (Flying Spur) has been awarded the honour of becoming the 2013/2014 Gold Coast Turf Club Horse Of The Year having recorded four wins and two second placed efforts at the track during the season.

Having actually never been out of the top two in seven runs at the track, trainer Toby Edmonds has turned the rising five-year-old mare into a very consistent runner and she will now head back to Segenhoe Stud to start the next phase of her career as a broodmare.

All in all, Spurs And Sashes has had 20 starts for five wins and six placed efforts, and while she never set the world alight, she was a very tough and game performer throughout her career which started in Sydney with John O’Shea before she headed north to the Gold Coast based yard of Edmonds.
