Kerry Palmer
Kerry started at Segenhoe in 2006 as a Stud Groom. Originally from Victoria, Kerry came to the Hunter Valley in 1994 after completing an Advanced Certificate in Horse Management (Breeding).
“Living in the Horse Capital of Australia gave me the best opportunity to further my skills, working on several of the major studs in the area including Emirates Park, Wakefield Stud, the original Segenhoe Stud (now Vinery) and Good Wood Farm, preparing yearlings and attending many of the yearling sales.”
Kerry has also worked with broodmares for several seasons, which has given her the opportunity and experience in foal watching.
While working at Scone Veterinary Hospital as a surgery nurse, Kerry gained her certificate in Veterinary Nursing. Working at Segenhoe, Kerry is able to bring her wealth of knowledge and experience to the farm that she has acquired over the past 20 years.
Kerry also looks after the mixed head of 182 Segenhoe cattle, with the eager help of her two dogs, Spud and Tatta.
Outside of work, Kerry has two daughters, who are also keen horse enthusiasts, like to camp draft when they can.
