Vicky Haggar

Vicky is from a non- horsey family but being brought up in the country just outside York, England, she managed to find horses at a young age. Upon leaving school, she went to work for a couple of National Hunt trainers, gaining her NVQ level 3 in racehorse care and management. From there she went into stud work, working at Hillwood Stud in England for 2 1/2 years and then a small stud in Cambridge, NZ for the season.

She went home and worked as assistant head groom for Alan King, where she was lucky enough to be working when the legendary Sir Anthony McCoy rode his final Cheltenham festival winner aboard the King trained Uxizandre. After another stint in New Zealand, Vicky graduated from the English National Stud diploma course with distinction and the Tim Dunlop Memorial Award for overall top student.

Having always had a love of travel, the next stop for Vicky was Australia, where she spent six months at Coolmore before coming to Segenhoe March 2018.

Vicky is now settled in Australia so her travelling will be limited to holidaying in beautiful places, 26 countries and counting.
