Link Baumann

Link has been shoeing horses for 30 years. In the early 1990s he completed his apprenticeship with Valley Farrier’s Billy Neville, after which he went on to start his own business.

Link took time out to extend his knowledge, attending the Laminitis symposium in Lexington, Kentucky, and the American Farriers Association (AFA) convention for many years.

Link was heavily involved in Farrier competitions. In 1996, a win at the Australian Championships took him to Calgary Stampede to compete at the world Farrier championships.

Link had worked along side Dr Terry Hicks of the Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital on many cases dealing with lameness issues. It came apparent that they were a great team. In 1996 together they built the Hunter Valley Podiatry and Lameness Centre.

Link’s passion and knowledge for the care of lameness is second to none. His dedication to continual learning will always benefit his clients as does his desire to educate others and pass on his experiences.
