Swerve Secures Victory
The Segenhoe Stud-owned Dane Shadow three-year-old Swerve headed to Scone where he recorded a classy win
Having initially been trained by Grahame Begg, Segenhoe Stud’s three-year-old gelding Swerve was transferred over to David Vandyke, and has achieved immediate success!
Having previously recorded two second placed efforts from his first three starts, Swerve started a warm favourite in the Henry Bucks Maiden Plate over 900m at Scone.
Carrying the top weigh of 59kg, the Dane Shadow gelding took the race by a half-length margin from Just A Diva, with a further two and three quarters to the third placed Blinkin Hasty.
Purchased from the draft of Kitchwin Hills at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in 2011, the veteran of only four starts to date looks likely to step up in trip at his next start and should once again be hard to beat.
