Tulla Touch Too Good At The Gold Coast
The Toby Edmonds-trained Exceed And Excel filly Tulla Touch records her fifth career win from 11 starts.
Over her favourite trip of the 1000m sprint trip, Exceed And Excel filly Tulla Touch recorded a very good win two starts ago at the Sunshine Coast and based on that win, trainer Toby Edmonds headed her back to her home track of the Gold Coast for a 1000m race on Saturday, confident of a very forward showing.
In a small field of only seven runners, surprisingly the talented filly did not start favourite, but was the second elect, although a significant amount of late support saw her just behind the race favourite Prettyfamous in the market.
When the field jumped, jockey Jackson Morris had our filly placed on the rails and she appeared to be travelling well within herself, while the race favourite was posted three-wide in the run, but was still travelling well.
When the time came for our filly to make her run, it did take her a bit to hit top gear, but she knuckled down extremely well when urged to the outside of the field, making up many lengths to catch and nab the leader Prettyfamous by a long head.
So dominant where these two, that the third horse in the race, Perfect Glory, was over three lengths way.
The winner of five of her 11 starts to date, Segenhoe Stud race the filly with breeder Ron Sayers and we would like to congratulate Ron, as well as the Toby Edmonds Stable on the gutsy win of the filly.
