Segenhoe’s Trial File
Over the last few weeks the Segenhoe Stud runners have performed extremely well in barrier trials in readiness for their efforts and we highlight some below.
Three-year-old Iffraj gelding Church Boy, trained by Michael Moroney trialled recently at Randwick over 1050m and produced a very good effort to defeat Never Fazed by a nose, with fellow Segenhoe Stud-owned runner Guepardo, a Flying Spur gelding in the John O’Shea stable back in third.
On the same day, this time over 728m, the three-year-old Grahame Begg-trained Dane Shadow gelding Swerve performed very well, winning his trial by two lengths and is likely to head to the races in the coming weeks.
This season’s Group Three Ming Dynasty winner Aussies Love Sport (pictured) headed back for his first trial of his current campaign, taking the 800m trial at Warwick Farm, narrowly for Tommy Berry.
Set to head to Melbourne and be aimed at the Group One Australian Guineas, the three-year-old Redoute’s Choice colt is one to watch during the autumn.
